We are an ecumenical ministry focused on bringing God’s redeeming love into the lives of the impoverished children and their families in the southwest corner of Richardson, Texas’ independent school district. Our desire is to build mutually-transforming one-on-one God-centered mentoring relationships between at-risk youth from this area and Christian men and woman who have a heart for kids and want to put flesh on Jesus’ teachings.
We have partnered with the largest elementary school in the area, RISD Academy Elementary School and two small neighborhood churches to identify children in need. Our focus is on what we call The Four S’s: School (emphasizing the importance of education and staying in school), Salvation (through Jesus Christ alone), Service (reaching out to help others in need), and their future Story (encouraging and inspiring them to become the leaders of tomorrow in their community and beyond).
These focuses are stressed during the fun yet purposeful bi-monthly outings our mentors organize for their mentees. We also provide monthly Bible studies, quarterly service projects, and annual summer Vacation Bible School programs which introduce them to a broader world than they may have experienced otherwise. Our mentoring begins in elementary school and our hope is that these mentoring relationships will continue through middle and high school as well.
We invite you to join us in this fun and worthy work by becoming a mentor, praying salvation over these precious children and their families, and giving financially to our ministry.
